REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



The switch is on the steering column, behind the instrument panel.

  1. If necessary for access, lower the steering column, making sure that it is supported at all times.
  2.

WARNING
Extreme care is necessary to prevent damage to the collapsible column.

  1. Make sure that the switch is in the Lock position. If the lock cylinder is out, pull the switch rod up to the stop, then go down one detent.
  2.  
  3. Remove the two screws and the switch.
  4.  
  5. Before installation, make sure the switch is in the Lock position.
  6.  
  7. Install the switch using the original screws.
  8.  


CAUTION
Use of screws that are too long could prevent the column from collapsing on impact.

  1. If lowered, raise and secure the column.
