REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1988-91 R/V Series
FRONT

See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the four upper screws on the instrument panel bezel.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the instrument panel pad screws and remove the pad.
  6.  
  7. Unfasten the speaker screws, lift up the speaker until you can disconnect the wiring and remove the speaker.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Connect the wiring to the speaker and then install the speaker.
  2.  
  3. Install the panel pad and then install the bezel screws.
  4.  
  5. Connect the battery cable.
  6.

REAR

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Unfasten the speaker grille retaining screws and remove the grille.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the speaker screws, lift up the speaker until you can disconnect the wiring and remove the speaker.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Connect the wiring to the speaker and then install the speaker.
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker grille and then install the screws.
  4.  
  5. Connect the battery cable.
  6.  

1988-94 Models

FRONT

See Figures 3, 4 and 5

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Unfasten the speaker grille retaining fasteners and remove the grille.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the speaker screws, lift up the speaker until you can disconnect the wiring and remove the speaker.
  6.

To install:
  1. Connect the wiring to the speaker and then install the speaker. Tighten the screws to 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker grille and then install the screws.
  4.  
  5. Connect the battery cable.
  6.

REAR

See Figures 6 and 7

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Unfasten the speaker grille or trim panel retaining screws and remove the grille.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the speaker screws, lift up the speaker until you can disconnect the wiring and remove the speaker.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Connect the wiring to the speaker and then install the speaker. Tighten the screws to 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker grille or trim panel and then install the screws.
  4.  
  5. Connect the battery cable.
  6.

SIDE DOOR PANEL

See Figure 8

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the speaker wiring.
  4.  
  5. Remove the side door map pocket.
  6.  
  7. Unfasten the speaker screws and remove the speaker.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Connect the wiring to the speaker and then install the speaker. Tighten the screws to 14 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install the map pocket.
  4.  
  5. Connect the battery cable.
  6.

REAR OVERHEAD

See Figure 9

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Unfasten the speaker grille or trim panel retaining screws and remove the grille.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the speaker screws, lift up the speaker until you can disconnect the wiring and remove the speaker.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Connect the wiring to the speaker and then install the speaker. Tighten the screws to 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker grille or trim panel and then install the screws.
  4.  
  5. Connect the battery cable.
  6.

1995-96 Models
FRONT SIDE DOOR
  1. Remove the trim panel and the speaker retainer screws.
  2.  
  3. Using a small screwdriver release the speaker retainer.
  4.  
  5. Remove the speaker and disengage the electrical connector.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Engage the electrical connector and install the speaker. The speaker should snap into the retainer when fully seated.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the speaker screws to 18 inch lbs. (2 Nm), and install the trim panel.
  4.  

FRONT DOOR ARMREST
  1. Lift the armrest speaker cover at the rear edge and slide the cover back to disengage the front retainer.
  2.  
  3. Disengage the electrical connector and rotate the speaker to release it.
  4.  

To install:
  1. Install the speaker to the cover by rotating it into position. The speaker should snap into position when fully seated.
  2.  
  3. Engage the electrical connector and slide the cover into the front slots.
  4.  
  5. Lower the armrest speaker cover to engage the retainers.
  6.  

REAR SPEAKERS
  1. Remove the speaker grille or rear trim panel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the speaker screws and the speaker.
  4.  
  5. Disengage the electrical connectors.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Engage the electrical connectors and install the speakers.
  2.  
  3. Fasten the speaker screws to 18 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the speaker grille or rear trim panel.
  6.  

SIDE DOOR

See Figures 10 and 11

  1. Remove the speaker grille and retainers.
  2.  
  3. Remove the speaker and disengage the electrical connectors.
  4.  

To install:
  1. Engage the electrical connectors and install the speakers.
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker retainers and grille.
  4.

REAR OVERHEAD SPEAKERS

See Figure 12

  1. Remove the speaker grille.
  2.  
  3. Remove the roof inner trim panel, if necessary.
  4.  
  5. Remove the speaker screws and the speaker.
  6.  
  7. Disengage the electrical connectors, as necessary.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Engage any electrical connectors that were removed.
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker and speaker screws. Tighten the screws to 18 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the inner roof trim panel, if removed.
  6.  
  7. Install the speaker grille.
  8.
