REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1988-94 Models
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the accessory trim panel.
  4.  
  5. Unplug the unit electrical connections.
  6.  
  7. Remove the retainers or screws and remove the unit.
  8.  
  9. Remove the bumper and clip from the unit.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Attach the bumper and clip to the unit.
  2.  
  3. Install the unit making sure the bumper goes into the hole on the bracket.
  4.  
  5. Fasten the retainers or screws.
  6.  
  7. Attach the electrical connections.
  8.  
  9. Install the trim panel.
  10.  
  11. Connect the battery cable.
  12.  

1995-98 C/K Models

See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the accessory trim plate.
  4.  
  5. If the unit is retained with screws, unfasten the screws.
  6.  
  7. If the unit is not retained by screws, release the retainers using a small screwdriver and pull out the unit.
  8.  
  9. Unplug all electrical connections and remove the unit.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Attach all electrical connections to the unit.
  2.  
  3. Slide the unit into position.
  4.  
  5. If the unit is not retained by screws, push the unit in until the retainers are fully engaged.
  6.  
  7. If the unit is retained with screws, install and tighten the screws.
  8.  
  9. Install the trim plate.
  10.  
  11. Connect the battery cable.
  12.
