Throttle Body

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the air inlet duct.
  4.  
  5. Unplug the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) electrical connectors.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables.
  8.  
  9. Unfasten the throttle body retaining nuts and remove the throttle body.
  10.  
  11. Remove and discard the flange gasket.
  12.  
  13. Clean both gasket mating surfaces.
  14.  

When cleaning the old gasket from the machined aluminum surfaces be careful as sharp tools may damage the sealing surfaces

To install:
  1. Install the new flange gasket and the throttle body assembly.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the throttle body attaching nuts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Connect the throttle and cruise control cables.
  6.  
  7. Attach the IAC valve and the TPS electrical connectors.
  8.  
  9. Install the air inlet duct and connect the negative battery cable.
  10.
