Fuel Meter Body

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to the fuel relief procedure in this section.
  2.  
  3. Raise the hood, install fender covers and remove the air cleaner assembly.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  6.  
  7. Remove the fuel meter cover assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove the fuel meter cover gasket, fuel meter outlet gasket and pressure regulator seal.
  10.  
  11. Remove the fuel injectors.
  12.  
  13. Remove the fuel inlet and outlet nuts and gaskets from the fuel meter body.
  14.  
  15. Remove the three screws and lockwashers.
  16.  
  17. Remove the fuel meter body from the throttle assembly.
  18.  

DO not remove the center screw and staking at each end holding the fuel distribution skirt in the throttle body. The skirt is an integral part of the throttle body and is not serviced separately.

  1. Remove the fuel meter body insulator gasket.
  2.  

To install:
  1. Be sure to install new gaskets and O-rings wherever necessary. Apply a threadlocking compound to the fuel meter retaining screws prior to tightening.
  2.  
  3. Install the fuel inlet and fuel outlet nuts and gaskets to the fuel meter body.
  4.  
  5. Install the fuel injectors.
  6.  
  7. Install the fuel meter cover gasket, fuel meter outlet gasket and pressure regulator seal.
  8.  
  9. Install the fuel meter cover assembly.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.  
  13. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  14.
