Windshield Washer Motor

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1988-91 R/V Series
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the two attaching screws and remove the reservoir.
  4.  
  5. Unplug the wiring at the motor.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the fluid tube at the motor.
  8.  
  9. Remove the motor from the reservoir.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Install the motor into the reservoir.
  2.  
  3. Connect the fluid tube at the motor.
  4.  
  5. Attach the wiring at the motor.
  6.  
  7. Install the reservoir.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  

1988-96 C/K Models

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Unplug the wiring harness connector(s) from the pump.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the hose(s) from the pump.
  6.  
  7. Remove the attaching fasteners and lift off the reservoir.
  8.  
  9. Remove the pump from the reservoir.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Install the motor into the reservoir.
  2.  
  3. Connect the hose(s) at the pump.
  4.  
  5. Attach the electrical connections at the motor.
  6.  
  7. Install the reservoir.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  

1997-98 C/K Models
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the storage compartment and tray.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the reservoir bolts.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the hoses from the reservoir.
  8.  
  9. Unplug the electrical connections from the reservoir and remove the reservoir from the vehicle.
  10.  
  11. Remove the cover from the reservoirs.
  12.  
  13. Remove the hoses and connectors from the motors.
  14.  
  15. Remove the motors and the seals from the reservoir.
  16.  

To install:

The front and rear motors are different sizes and are not interchangeable. The rear motor has a bigger electrical harness connection.

  1. Install the motor seals and the motor in the reservoir. If the motor is hard to install, lubricate it with washer solvent and reinstall it.
  2.  
  3. Attach the hoses and connectors to the motors. Push the harness wrap and the hoses into the channels on the reservoir.
  4.  
  5. Install the cover on the reservoir.
  6.  
  7. Install the reservoir and its retaining bolts. Tighten the bolts to 53 inch lbs. (6 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Attach the electrical connections.
  10.  

Washer pump hose connectors are color coded. Attach the gray connector to the rear motor and the black connector to the front motor.

  1. Attach the hoses to the motors.
  2.  
  3. Install the storage tray and the compartment.
  4.  
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6.
