Engine Oil Cooler

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  4.  
  5. Properly drain the cooling system into a suitable container.
  6.  
  7. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Place a drainPan under the oil filter and remove the filter.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the oil cooler outlet hose, then position it aside.
  12.  
  13. Detach the inlet hose and position it aside.
  14.  
  15. Remove the connector piece.
  16.  
  17. Remove the oil cooler and adaptor.
  18.  

To install:
  1. Clean the mating surfaces of the block and cooler.
  2.  
  3. Coat the gasket with oil and install the adaptor.
  4.  
  5. Install the oil cooler.
  6.  
  7. Replace the O-ring, coat it with oil, and install the connector.
  8.  
  9. Attach the inlet and outlet hoses.
  10.  
  11. Tighten the clamps.
  12.  
  13. Install the oil filter.
  14.  
  15. Carefully lower the vehicle.
  16.  
  17. Properly fill the cooling system, then check the oil level. Add oil to the crankcase, if necessary.
  18.  
  19. Connect the negative battery cable, then start the engine and check for leaks.
  20.
