REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the instrument panel trim plate.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the radio retaining bolts, then while pulling the radio out, detach electrical harness and antenna lead.
  6.  
  7. Remove the radio from the vehicle.
  8.  

To install:

WARNING
When installing the radio, do not pinch the wires or a short circuit to ground may happen and damage the radio.

  1. Attach the electrical harness and antenna lead to the back of the radio, then position the radio in the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Install the retaining bolts.
  4.  
  5. Install the instrument panel trim plate.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.

The Grand Prix, Cutlass Supreme and Regal are equipped with a remote radio receiver with the controls mounted in the instrument panel.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the cluster trim plate.
  4.  
  5. Remove the control retaining bolts, disconnect the electrical harness and remove the radio controls.
  6.  

To install:

WARNING
When installing the radio controls, do not pinch the wires or a short circuit to ground may happen and damage the radio.

  1. Connect the control electrical harness and tighten the control retaining bolts.
  2.  
  3. Install the cluster trim plate and reconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  

RADIO RECEIVER

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the right side sound insulator panel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the courtesy lamp and connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the two receiver retaining bolts, disconnect the electrical harness and remove the receiver.
  8.  

To install:

WARNING
When installing the receiver assembly, do not pinch the wires or a short circuit to ground may happen and damage the radio.

  1. Connect the electrical harness, antenna cable and tighten the receiver retaining bolts.
  2.  
  3. Install the courtesy lamp and bolt.
  4.  
  5. Install the right side sound insulator panel and connect the negative battery cable.
  6.
