REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Grasp the sunroof control switch and pull it straight downward. Remove the small nut and disconnect the connector from the switch.
  4.  
  5. Remove the sunshades, inside rearview mirror, passenger assist handle, dome lamp, and high level stoplamp.
  6.  
  7. Remove the headliner lace from the retainer around the sunroof opening. Withdraw the tucked headliner material.
  8.  
  9. Remove the windshield pillar and side roof rail garnish moldings.
  10.  
  11. Remove the upper quarter "sail'' panels and loosen the upper trim at the door pillar.
  12.  
  13. Release the headliner hook and loop fasteners and lower by sliding the headliner to one side while at the same time lowering the opposite side from the center pillar trim. Recline the seatbacks and, with the aid of a helper, remove the headliner through the passenger door opening.
  14.  
  15. Remove the drain hoses.
  16.  
  17. Disconnect the connectors from the relay and harness assembly.
  18.  
  19. With the aid of a helper, remove the nuts securing the sunroof assembly to the roof, starting with the outer nuts and working your way inward. Lower and carefully remove the assembly through the passenger door opening.
  20.  

To install:
  1. Install the sunroof assembly to the roof, align, and install the securing nuts, starting from the center and working your way outward.
  2.  
  3. Connect the relay and harness.
  4.  
  5. Install the drain hoses and secure the hose clamps.
  6.  
  7. Carefully install the headliner to the roof panel. Engage the hook and loop fasteners.
  8.  
  9. Secure the upper trim at the door pillar.
  10.  
  11. Install the upper quarter "sail'' panels.
  12.  
  13. Install the windshield pillar and side roof rail garnish moldings.
  14.  
  15. Tuck in the headliner material and connect the headliner lace to the retainer around the sunroof opening.
  16.  
  17. Install all remaining interior parts that were removed during the removal procedure.
  18.  
  19. Connect the negative battery cable and check the sunroof for proper operation.
  20.  
  21. With the sunroof closed, adjust the height and centering of the glass as required.
  22.  
  23. Leak check the sunroof with a hose imitating a good rainfall. It's better to detect a leak now than when it's really raining.
  24.  

MOTOR REPLACEMENT



  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the sunvisor, sunroof switch, rear view mirror and passenger assist handle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the head
