  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the door trim panel and water deflector as outlined in this section.
  4.  
  5. Remove the inner belt sealing strip and front window guide retainer.
  6.  
  7. Raise the window half way and push on the rear guide retainer with a flat prybar to disengage the rear run channel. Lift the glass up and to the inboard side of the door frame.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Install the glass into the regulator arm roller and sash channel.
  2.  
  3. Lower the glass half way and pull rearward to engage the rear guide retainer-to-run channel.
  4.  
  5. Install the front window guide retainer by lowering the glass to about 3 in. (76mm) above the belt line and locate the retainer on the door.
  6.  
  7. Check for proper window and door operation at this time.
  8.  
  9. Adjust the door glass as follows.
    1. With the trim panel and water deflector removed, loosen the front window guide retainer bolts.
    2.  
    3. Cycle the glass to the full down position.
    4.  
    5. Finger tighten the top retainer bolt and tighten the bottom bolt to 53 inch lbs. (6 Nm).
    6.  
    7. Run the glass up to 1 in. (25mm) from the full-up position and tighten the top bolt to 53 inch lbs. (6 Nm).
    8.  
    9. Recheck the glass for proper operation without binding.
    10.  

  10.  
  11. Install the inner belt sealing strip, water deflector and trim panel.
  12.  
  13. Connect the negative battery cable and check for proper door operation.
  14.  

1995-96 CHEVROLET

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the door trim panel as outlined in this section.
  4.  
  5. On the Monte Carlo, remove the energy absorber pad.
  6.  
  7. Remove the water deflector.
  8.  
  9. Remove the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
  10.  
  11. Remove the window run channel.
  12.  
  13. Remove the rivets and remove the window from the regulator sash.
  14.  
  15. Remove the sash insulators, if necessary.
  16.  

To install:
  1. Securely snap the sash insulators to the bottom edge of the window.
  2.  
  3. Position the window between the inner and outer panels. Point the lower front corner of the window down and pass through the belt opening, aligning the edges with the door window channel. Turn the window to a horizontal position and align the holes in the window with the holes in the regulator sash.
  4.  
  5. Install the rivets.
  6.  
  7. Install the window run channel.
  8.  
  9. Install the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
  10.  
  11. Install the water deflector.
  12.  
  13. On the Monte Carlo, install the energy absorber pad.
  14.  
  15. Install the door trim panel as outlined in this section.
  16.  

Rear

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the door trim panel and water deflector as outlined in this section.
  4.  
  5. Remove the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
  6.  
  7. Remove the nuts securing the regulator sash-to-glass and place a wedge between the division channel and door outer panel.
  8.  
  9. Mask the outboard side of the division channel with protective tape and lower the glass to the bottom of the door.
  10.  
  11. Remove the front portion of the glass channel from the front door frame.
  12.  
  13. Make sure the glass is disengaged from the division channel and lift the glass upward and outboard of the door frame.
  14.  

To install:
  1. Install the glass to the door from the outboard side.
  2.  
  3. Install the front portion of the window channel-to-door frame by lowering the glass to the bottom.
  4.  
  5. Install the rear guide-to-division channel. Tighten the nuts to 80 inch lbs. (9 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Remove the wedge and masking tape.
  8.  
  9. Check the window for proper operation.
  10.  
  11. Install the outer and inner belt sealing strips.
  12.  
  13. Install the water deflector and trim panel.
  14.  
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
  16.  

1995-96 LUMINA

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  3. Remove the door trim panel as outlined in this section.

  5. Remove the water deflector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
  8.  
  9. Remove the window run channel.
  10.  
  11. Remove the rivets and remove the window from the regulator sash.
  12.  
  13. Remove the sash insulators, if necessary.
  14.  

To install:
  1. Securely snap the sash insulators to the bottom edge of the window.

  3. Position the window between the inner and outer panels. Point the lower front corner of the window down and pass through the belt opening, aligning the edges with the door window channel.
