Front
EXCEPT 1995-96 CHEVROLET

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Tape the window in the full-up position.
  4.  
  5. Remove the door trim panel and water deflector. in. (6mm) drill bit, drill out the regulator rivets.
  6.  
  7. Remove the regulator by disengaging the regulator arm from the sash channel.
  8.  
  9. Unplug the electrical connectors, if so equipped.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Install the regulator through the access hole and attach the regulator arm-to-sash channel.
  2.  
  3. Engage the electrical connectors. in. rivets to retain the regulator. Check for proper operation.
  4.  
  5. Install the water deflector and trim panel.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable and remove the tape.
  8.  

1995-96 CHEVROLET

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the door trim panel as outlined in this section.
  4.  
  5. On the Monte Carlo, remove the energy absorber pad.
  6.  
  7. Remove the water deflector.
  8.  
  9. Remove the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
  10.  
  11. Remove the window run channel.
  12.  
  13. Remove the rivets and remove the window from the regulator sash.
  14.  
  15. Remove the sash insulators, if necessary.
  16.  
  17. Remove the electrical connector, if equipped.
  18.  
  19. Remove the nuts, rivets and bolts/screws and remove the regulator.
  20.  

To install:
  1. Insert the bottom of the regulator through the access opening, then rotate the top through the opening while lowering the regulator to clear the top of the access opening and align with the holes in the door inner panel.
  2.  
  3. Install the upper right base plate bolt/screw, followed by the lower base plate bolt/screw. Tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the upper left rivet, followed by the lower right rivet.
  6.  
  7. Install the cam nut and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install the electrical connector, if equipped.
  10.  
  11. Securely snap the sash insulators to the bottom edge of the window.
  12.  
  13. Position the window between the inner and outer panels. Point the lower front corner of the window down and pass through the belt opening, aligning the edges with the door window channel. Turn the window to a horizontal position and align the holes in the window with the holes in the regulator sash.
  14.  
  15. Install the rivets.
  16.  
  17. Install the window run channel.
  18.  
  19. Install the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
  20.  
  21. Install the water deflector.
  22.  
  23. On the Monte Carlo, install the energy absorber pad.
  24.  
  25. Install the door trim panel as outlined in this section.
  26.  

Rear
EXCEPT 1995-96 LUMINA

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Tape the window in the full-up position.
  4.  
  5. Remove the door trim panel and water deflector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the nuts securing the regulator sash-to-glass. in. (6mm) drill bit, drill out the regulator rivets.
  8.  
  9. Unplug the electrical connectors, if so equipped.
  10.  
  11. Remove the regulator through the access hole.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Install the regulator through the access hole.
  2.  
  3. Engage the electrical connectors.
  4.  
  5. Install 1 / 4 in. by 1 / 2 in. rivets to retain the regulator. Check for proper operation.
  6.  
  7. Install the retaining nuts and tighten to 80 inch lbs. (9 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install the water deflector and trim panel.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable and remove the tape.
  12.  

1995-96 LUMINA

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the door trim panel as outlined in this section.
  4.  
  5. Remove the water deflector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
  8.  
  9. Remove the window run channel.
  10.  
  11. Remove the rivets and remove the window from the regulator sash.
  12.  
  13. Remove the sash insulators, if necessary.
  14.  
  15. Remove the electrical connector, if equipped.
  16.  
  17. Remove the nuts, rivets and bolts/screws and remove the regulator.
  18.  

To install:
  1. Install the regulator with the rivets and bolts/screws. Tighten the bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install the electrical connector, if equipped.
  4.  
  5. Securely snap the sash insulators to the bottom edge of the window.
  6.  
  7. Position the window between the inner and outer panels. Point the lower front corner of the window down and pass through the belt opening, aligning the edges with the door window channel. Turn the window to a horizontal position and align the holes in the window with the holes in the regulator sash.
  8.  
  9. Install the rivets.
  10.  
  11. Install the window run channel.
  12.  
  13. Install the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
  14.  
  15. Install the water deflector.
  16.  
  17. Install the door trim panel as outlined in this section.
