Shoulder Belt and Retractor Mechanism

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION



C-Pillar

The right and left side shoulder safety belts for second row bench or bucket seats are attached to the C-pillars in a similar manner.

  1. Remove the center C-pillar trim finish panel assembly from the body side frame.
  2.  
  3. Unsnap the plastic cover off the upper seat belt anchor bracket.
  4.  
  5. Remove the upper seat belt anchor bolt using a suitable Torx® driver.
  6.  
  7. Remove the lower seat belt anchor bolt using a ratchet with a Torx® driver.
  8.  
  9. Remove the seat belt retractor mechanism bolt using a ratchet with a Torx® driver.
  10.  
  11. Remove the seat belt retractor mechanism by feeding assembly up through the opening in the pillar trim finish panel and remove the seat belt retractor assembly.
  12.  
  13. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

D-Pillar

The right and left side shoulder safety belts for third row bucket seats are attached to the D-pillars in a similar manner.

  1. Remove the jack storage compartment cover on the right side or the compressor/inflator rear shock absorber cover on the left side.
  2.  
  3. Use a suitable Torx® driver to remove the seat belt retractor anchor bolt.
  4.  
  5. Remove the anchor bolt securing the seat belt to the floor pan.
  6.  
  7. Unsnap the plastic cover from the upper belt anchor bracket at the roof end of the D-pillar.
  8.  
  9. Remove the upper seat belt anchor bolt using a suitable Torx® driver.
  10.  
  11. Remove the rear wheelhouse upper trim panel assembly.
  12.  
  13. Remove the shoulder belt retractor mechanism.
  14.  
  15. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
