CAUTION
Halogen bulbs contain a gas under pressure. Handling a bulb improperly could cause it to shatter into flying glass fragments.

  1. Depending on the vehicle and bulb application, either unscrew or remove the lens or disengage the bulb and socket assembly from the rear of the lens housing.
  2.
  3. To remove a light bulb with retaining pins from its socket, grasp the bulb, then gently depress and twist it 1/8 turn counterclockwise, and pull it from the socket.
  4.

To install:
  1. Before installing a light bulb into the socket, ensure that all electrical contact surfaces are free of corrosion or dirt.
  2.

Before installing the light bulb, note the positions of the two retaining pins on the bulb. They will likely be at different heights on the bulb, to ensure that the bulb is installed correctly. If, when installing the bulb, it does not turn easily, do not force it. Remove the bulb and rotate it 180 ° from its former position, then reinsert it into the bulb socket.

  1. Insert the light bulb into the socket and, while depressing the bulb, twist it 1/8 turn clockwise until the two pins on the light bulb are properly engaged in the socket.
  2.
  3. To ensure that the replacement bulb functions properly, activate the applicable switch to illuminate the bulb which was just replaced. If the replacement light bulb does not illuminate, either it too is faulty or there is a problem in the bulb circuit or switch. Correct if necessary.
  4.
  5. If applicable, install the socket and bulb assembly into the rear of the lens housing; otherwise, install the lens over the bulb.
  6.

Side Marker Light

On some applications, the side marker lamp bulbs can be replaced without any component disassembly. The bulbs are directly accessible from inside the front bumper fascia.

  1. Disengage the bulb and socket assembly from the lens housing.
  2.
  3. Gently grasp the light bulb and pull it straight out of the socket.
  4.

To install:
  1. Before installing the light bulb into the socket, ensure that all electrical contact surfaces are free of corrosion or dirt.
  2.
  3. Line up the base of the light bulb with the socket, then insert the light bulb into the socket until it is fully seated.
  4.
  5. To ensure that the replacement bulb functions properly, activate the applicable switch to illuminate the bulb which was just replaced. If the replacement light bulb does not illuminate, either it too is faulty or there is a problem in the bulb circuit or switch. Correct as necessary.
  6.
  7. Install the socket and bulb assembly into the lens housing.
  8.

On this application, the bulb is not directly replaceable without removing some parts. It is necessary to remove the front parking/turn signal lamp bulbs can be replaced by removing the headlamp capsule screws, pulling the headlamp capsule forward, and accessing the lamp sockets.

  1. Using a small prytool, carefully remove the cover lens from the lamp assembly.
