Radio Control Unit/Remote Tape Player

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Disable the SIR system, as outlined earlier in this section.
  2.  
  3. If not done already, disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the bezel from the ignition switch.
  6.  
  7. Remove the accessory trim plate by carefully prying at the retaining clip points and pulling the plate away from the dash.
  8.  
  9. If equipped, remove the remote tape player by unfastening the two retaining screws and detaching any necessary electrical connectors.
  10.  
  11. Unfasten the retaining screws, then pull the radio assembly forward. Detach the electrical and antenna lead connections, then remove the assembly from the vehicle.

To install:

  1. Attach the electrical and antenna lead connections to the radio assembly.
  2.  
  3. Position the radio control unit assembly, then secure with the retaining screws.
  4.  
  5. If removed, attach the remote tape player electrical connectors, install the tape player and secure with the two retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. Install the accessory trim plate and ignition switch bezel.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable,
  10.  
  11. Enable the SIR system, as outlined earlier in this section.
