The stabilizer bar is attached to the front suspension support (subframe) and, through a bolt and link, connects the lower control arms.

  1. Raise and safely support vehicle and allow vehicle suspension to hang free.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies.
  4.  
  5. Remove the nuts attaching the stabilizer bar to the stabilizer links.
  6.  
  7. Separate the tie rods from the knuckles.
  8.  
  9. Remove the bolts retaining the rear engine bracket.
  10.

  1. Remove the clamps attaching stabilizer bar to the subframe.

  1. Support the rear of the subframe with adjustable safety stands.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear and center bolts from subframe assembly and loosen the front bolts.
  4.  
  5. Lower the subframe 3 inches by adjusting the safety stands down.
  6.  
  7. Remove the stabilizer bar with insulators.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Place stabilizer bar with insulators into vehicle and hand-tighten.
  2.  
  3. Install the clamps attaching stabilizer bar to subframe assemblies and hand-tighten.
  4.  
  5. Install the tie rods to the knuckle.
  6.  
  7. Install the bolts retaining the rear engine bracket.
  8.  
  9. Install the subframe assemblies into position, then install and hand-tighten the bolts.
  10.  
  11. Tighten the subframe bolts in the following order, to the proper specifications:
    1. Tighten the left rear outboard bolts to 71 ft. lbs. (110 Nm), then turn an additional 90°.
    2.  
    3. Tighten the right rear outboard bolts to 71 ft. lbs. (110 Nm), then turn an additional 90°.
    4.  
    5. Tighten the front upper bolts to 71 ft. lbs. (110 Nm), then turn an additional 90°.
    6.  
    7. Tighten the rear inboard bolts to 71 ft. lbs. (110 Nm), then turn an additional 90°.
    8.

  13. Tighten the stabilizer-to-subframe clamp bolts to 49 ft. lbs. (66 Nm).
  14.  
  15. Tighten the stabilizer bar links to control arm nuts. Tighten the nuts to 13 ft. lbs. (17 Nm).
  16.  
  17. Install the tire and wheel assemblies.
  18.  
  19. Lower the vehicle.
  20.  
  21. Have the wheel alignment checked and adjusted as necessary.
