  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wiper arm assemblies.
  4.  
  5. Remove the wiper cowl assembly from the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Detach the electrical connector from the wiper motor.
  8.  
  9. Remove the 3 retaining bolts from the wiper drive module, then remove it from the vehicle.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the wiper transmission assembly from the wiper motor crank arm assembly.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the wiper crank arm assembly from the wiper motor assembly, as follows:
    1. Loosen the wiper motor crank screw.
    2.  
    3. Tap on the wiper motor crank screw with a plastic mallet while holding up on the wiper motor crank arm assembly, until the crank arm assembly is loose.
    4.  
    5. Remove the wiper motor screw and wiper motor crank arm assembly.
    6.  
    7. Remove the 3 mounting screws from the bracket and remove the wiper motor.

To install:

  1. Install the wiper motor to the mounting bracket and install the 3 mounting screws. Tighten the screws to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Attach the wiper motor crank arm assembly to the wiper motor assembly.
  4.  
  5. Attach the electrical connector to the wiper motor.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  
  9. Turn the ignition switch to the ACCY position and set the wiper switch to PULSE . Verify wiper motor operation, turn the ignition switch OFF while the motor is still operating. Wiper motor assembly will then return to PARK.

  11. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then detach the electrical connector from the wiper motor.
  12.  


NOTE
Do not rotate the wiper motor assembly shaft during installation of wiper motor crank arm assembly.

  1. Install the wiper motor crank arm assembly onto the wiper motor assembly, while maintaining a 0.16-0.32 in. (4-8mm) gap between the wiper motor crank arm and the bracket tab.
  2.  
  3. Install the wiper motor crank arm screw and tighten to 144 inch lbs. (16 Nm). Make sure the gap between wiper motor crank arm and bracket tab is still 0.16-0.32 in. (4-8mm).
  4.  
  5. Install the wiper transmission assembly onto the wiper motor crank arm assembly.
  6.  
  7. Install the wiper drive system module and tighten the 3 screws to 88 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Attach the electrical connector to the wiper motor assembly.
  10.  
  11. Install the wiper cowl assembly.
  12.  
  13. Install the wiper arm assemblies onto the vehicle.
  14.  
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
  16.  
  17. Operate the wipers and check for proper operation.
