REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Discharge the air conditioning system, using the proper equipment. Refer to Routine Maintenance for proper discharging procedure.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the suction, discharge hoses and electrical connector at the compressor. Plug all open hoses to prevent contamination.
  6.  
  7. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Remove the right fender extension and oil filter. Loosen the compressor drive belt.
  10.  
  11. Remove the compressor mounting bolts and compressor.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Install the compressor and mounting bolts. Tighten compressor lower and upper mounting bolts to 21 ft. lbs. (28 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install the right fender extension and oil filter. Adjust the compressor drive belt.
  4.  
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Connect the suction, discharge hoses and electrical connector at the compressor. Tighten compressor pipe fitting bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).

  9. Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.
