REMOVAL and INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  4.  
  5. Drain the engine oil.
  6.  
  7. Remove the flywheel dust cover.
  8.  
  9. Remove the exhaust pipe at the exhaust manifold.
  10.  
  11. Remove the oil pan bolts, the pan and the oil pump strainer.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Clean the oil pan and oil pump strainer screen. Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
  2.  
  3. Install the oil pump strainer with a new seal. Secure with bolt and tighten to 97 inch lbs.. (11 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Apply a continuous bead of RTV sealant to the engine oil pan and install. Tighten the oil pan bolts to 9 ft. lbs.. (11 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Install the oil pan drain plug with a new gasket and tighten to 26 ft. lbs.. (35 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install the exhaust pipe at the exhaust manifold.
  10.  
  11. Install the flywheel dust cover.
  12.  
  13. Lower the vehicle and fill the engine with oil.
  14.  
  15. Connect the negative battery cable, start the engine and check for proper oil pressure.
