Lower Control Arm

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove the ball joint nut and bolt. Separate the ball joint from the knuckle.
  6.  
  7. Remove the control arm front mounting bracket bolts.
  8.  
  9. Remove 2 bolts and the control arm rear mounting bracket.
  10.  
  11. Remove the control arm and the front mounting bracket from the vehicle.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Install the control arm to the vehicle and secure with 4 bolts. Do not fully tighten the bolts.
  2.  
  3. Install the ball joint to the knuckle and secure with nut and bolt.
  4.  
  5. Tighten control arm rear mounting bracket bolts to 32 ft. lbs. (43 Nm); front mounting bracket bolts to 66 ft. lbs. (90 Nm) and ball joint nut and bolt to 44 ft. lbs. (60 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Install wheel and tire assembly.
  8.  
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10.  
  11. Check front wheel alignment.
  12.
