REPLACEMENT

CAUTION
Halogen bulbs contain a gas under pressure. Handling a bulb improperly could cause it to shatter into flying glass fragments. Turn the lighting system off and allow the bulb to cool prior to replacement. Handle the bulb only by its base, avoid touching the glass. Keep moisture away from the bulb. Always dispose of used bulbs properly.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.
  3. Disconnect the composite bulb electrical connector.
  4.
  5. Loosen the bulb locking cap by rotating counterclockwise.
  6.
  7. Pull the bulb with lock cap from the housing.
  8.
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal.

HEADLAMP AIMING

A professional headlamp aiming is recommended. This headlamp alignment procedure is given as an aid to adjusting grossly misadjusted lamps.

  1. Place the vehicle on level ground facing a wall or garage door.
  2.
  3. At dusk, shine the low beams onto the garage door or wall 2-3 feet away.
  4.
  5. Place a horizontal mark on the top edges of the bright spot (center) on the door or wall.
  6.
  7. Move the car about 25 feet straight back. The top of the low beam should shine no higher than the marks on the door or wall.
  8.
  9. Make the necessary adjustments using the adjustment screws at the side and top or bottom of the headlamp. These screws are accessible without removing any hardware.
