Two styles of towing are recommended, either a car carrier or a wheel lift tow truck.
A sling type tow truck should never be used to tow the vehicle as it will damage the front or rear bumper fascia or the fog lamps.
When towing the vehicle, have the ignition switch turned to the LOCK position. The steering wheel should be clamped in a straight ahead position using a device designed for towing services. Do not use the vehicle's steering column lock. The transaxle should be in the N position and the parking brake released.
For front towing hookup using a wheel lift tow truck, attach wheel straps to both front wheels. Attach safety chains to the front tie down brackets.
For rear towing hookup using a wheel lift tow truck, attach wheel straps to both rear wheels. Dollies are required under the front wheels when the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transaxle. Attach safety chains to the rear tie down brackets.
On automatic transaxle equipped vehicles, never tow from the rear with the front wheels on the road. The front wheels must be supported on dollies before towing. Damage to the transaxle will result if dollies are not used.
