Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Assembly

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear seat cushion and side trim panel as outlined in Routine Maintenance 0 .
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the rear sensor electrical connector.
  6.  
  7. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Pull the rear wheel speed sensor pigtail harness out through the body, removing the grommet.
  10.  
  11. Remove the 3 bolts retaining the rear wheel speed sensor pigtail harness to the body and rear strut assembly.
  12.  
  13. Remove the 1 bolt and remove the rear wheel speed sensor from the rear suspension knuckle.
  14.  

To install:
  1. Install the 1 bolt retaining the rear wheel speed sensor to the rear suspension knuckle and tighten to 69 inch lbs. (7.8 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install the 3 bolts and retain the rear wheel speed sensor pigtail harness to the body and rear strut assembly. Tighten the bolts to 48 inch lbs. (5.4 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Pull the rear wheel speed sensor pigtail harness in through the body, installing the grommet.
  6.  
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Connect the rear sensor electrical connector.
  10.  
  11. Install the rear seat cushion and side trim panel.
  12.  
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
  14.
