Circuit Breakers

The circuit breakers found on the fuse and relay boards mount to the boards with blades similar to the fuses. Before removing a breaker, always disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent potentially damaging electrical spikes within the system. Simply remove the breaker by pulling straight out from the relay board. Do not twist the relay; damage may occur to the connectors inside the housing.

Some circuit breakers on the Nova and Prizm do not reset automatically. Once tripped, they must be reset by hand. Use a small screwdriver or similar tool; insert it in the hole in the back of the breaker and push gently. Once the breaker is reset, either check it for continuity with an ohmmeter or reinstall it and check the circuit for function.

Reinstall the circuit breaker by pressing it straight in to its mount. Make certain the blades line up correctly and that the circuit breaker is fully seated. Reconnect the negative battery cable and check the circuit for function.
