Rear Turn Signal, Brake and Parking Lights
1985-92
  1. Raise the trunk lid and remove or fold back the trunk carpeting.
  2.
  3. Disconnect the wiring from the bulb holder(s).
  4.
  5. If a bulb is to be changed, remove the bulb holder from the housing by pressing the tab and lifting out the holder. Replace the bulb and reinsert the housing.
  6.
  7. Remove the nuts holding the taillight assembly in place. Some may be difficult to reach; a swivel or wobble fitting for your socket set can be a valuable asset for this job.
  8.
  9. Remove the lens assembly from the outside of the car.
  10.

To install:
  1. When reinstalling the lens assembly, pay close attention to the placement of the gasket. It must be correctly positioned and evenly crushed to prevent water from entering the trunk. Double check the holes through which the threaded studs pass; caulk them if needed.
  2.
  3. Install the retaining nuts and tighten them evenly. Do not overtighten them or the lens may crack.
  4.
  5. Install the electrical connectors. Have a helper operate the lights while you check the function at the rear of the car.
  6.
  7. Replace the trunk carpet.
  8.

  7. In the luggage compartment, remove the 1 nut from the rear combination lamp assembly.
  8.
  9. Gripping both ends of the rear combination lamp assembly, pull firmly, to release the pin from the clamp and remove the assembly from the vehicle.
