REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1989-90
LEFT

See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the 2 attaching screws from the hood release lever and remove the lever.
  4.  
  5. Remove the lower left dash trim and 4 retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speaker.
  8.  
  9. Remove the 3 speaker attaching screws and remove the speaker from the lower dash trim.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of removal.

RIGHT

See Figure 2

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the right side scuff plate.
  4.  
  5. Remove the right side cowl trim by removing the 1 attaching screw.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 5 attaching screws and pull out the glove box and trim assembly.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the speaker electrical connector.
  10.  
  11. Remove the 3 speaker attaching screws and remove the speaker from the glove box and trim assembly.
  12.  
  13. Installation is the reverse of removal.

1991-92
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Using a flat bladed tool, gently pry the speaker grille from the lower instrument trim panel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the 4 retaining screws, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the speaker from the housing.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  8.  

1993

See Figure 3

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Using a flat bladed tool, gently pry the speaker cover from the inner door panel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the 3 retaining bolts, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the speaker from the door.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the 3 retaining bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  8.
