Wheel Lug Studs

REPLACEMENT



Front Wheel

See Figure 1

  1. Raise and support the vehicle safely. Remove the front wheel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front brake caliper and disc rotor.
  4.  
  5. Remove the hub bolt using a removal tool.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Install the new hub bolt and draw into place using the nut and a stack of washers. The new hub bolt must be fully seated in the hub assembly.
  2.  
  3. Install front brake disc and front brake caliper. Torque the brake caliper to 65 ft. lbs.
  4.  
  5. Install front wheel and lower the vehicle.

Rear Wheel
DRUM BRAKES
  1. Raise the vehicle and support safely.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wheel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the brake drum from the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Drive the lug bolt out of the axle hub using a stud removal tool.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Draw the lug bolt into the axle hub using the nut and a stack of washers.
  2.  
  3. Install the brake drum onto the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Install the wheel and lower the vehicle.
  6.  

REAR DISC BRAKES
  1. Raise the vehicle and support safely.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the rear caliper and brake rotor.
  6.  
  7. Remove the wheel lug bolt by tapping bolt through hub with a hammer or using a stud removal tool.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Draw the new lug bolt into the hub using the nut and a stack of washers.
  2.  
  3. Install the brake rotor. Install rear brake caliper and torque to 25 ft. lbs. (14 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the rear wheel and lower the vehicle.
  6.
