  1. Using a flat bladed tool, carefully pry out the latch handle bezel from the top.
  2.  
  3. Open the endgate.
  4.  
  5. Disengage the endgate latch rods from the endgate latch handle as follows:
    1. Separate the retaining clip from the lower latch rod by prying the clip apart at the head of the latch rod:

    3. Slide the lower latch rod from the retaining clip and the handle:
    4.  
    5. Lift the endgate latch handle to gain access to the upper latch rod retaining clip and separate it from the upper latch rod:

    7. Slide the upper latch rod from the retaining clip.

  7. Disengage the slotted hole at the end of the pick-up box cables from the endgate striker bolts.
  8.  
  9. Remove the bolts that retain the endgate latches to the endgate.
  10.  
  11. Remove the pick-up box endgate latches, cables and latch rods from the endgate.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Position the pick-up box endgate latches, cables and latch rods to the endgate.
  2.  
  3. Install the bolts that retain the endgate latches to the endgate and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Engage the slotted hole at the end of the pick-up box cables to the endgate striker bolts.
  6.  
  7. Attach the upper latch rod to the handle and retaining clip.
  8.  
  9. Attach the lower latch rod to the handle and retaining clip.
  10.  
  11. Reposition the latch handle bezel and snap into place.
