REMOVAL & INSTALLAION



  1. Raise and support the rear of the vehicle safely using jackstands.
  2.  
  3. Remove the lower nuts, washers and bolts from the sway bar links.
  4.  
  5. Remove the nuts from the U-bolts, the U-bolts, the clamps and the insulators.
  6.  
  7. Remove the sway bar from the vehicle.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Place the sway bar in position.
  2.  
  3. Install the sway bar insulators, clamps, U-bolts and the U-bolt nuts. Tighten the nuts to 44 ft. lbs. (60 Nm).
  4.  
  5. On four door utility models, install the sway bar-to-link mounting bolt.
  6.  
  7. Install the sway bar-to-link nut. On 1994 models, tighten the nut to 50 ft. lbs. (68 Nm) on two door utility models and 28 ft. lbs. (35 Nm) on four door utility models.
  8.  
  9. On 1995-97 models, tighten the nuts as follows:

    Upper link nuts on pick-up, two and four door utility models: 25 ft. lbs. (35 Nm)
     
    Lower link nuts on pick-up, two and four door utility models: 50 ft. lbs. (68 Nm)
     

  10.  
  11. On 1998-99 models, tighten the upper link nuts on all models to 25 ft. lbs. (35 Nm)
  12.  
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14.
