Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Make sure the engine is cold, then relieve the cooling system pressure.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Unplug the sensor electrical connector.
  6.  
  7. Have a couple of rags and a drain pan handy for coolant which may leak from the opening, then carefully loosen and back the sensor out from the engine.
  8.  
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Coat the threads of the new sensor with sealant, then install and tighten the sensor securely. For Storm engines, tighten the sensor to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Check and refill the engine cooling system, as necessary.
