CAUTION
Never open, service, or drain the radiator or cooling system when hot; serious burns can occur from the steam and hot coolant. Avoid physical contact with the coolant. Wear protective clothing and eye protection. Always drain coolant into a sealable container. Clean up spills as soon as possible. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is several years old.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Drain the cooling system below the upper radiator hose.
  6.  
  7. Remove the coolant recovery container (2).
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the fan motor electrical connection (1).

  11. Remove the upper radiator hose (3).
  12.  
  13. Remove the radiator fan assembly (2) by lifting it upward to release it from the mounts.

To install:

  1. Position the radiator fan assembly (2) into the mounts and attaching clips on the radiator.
  2.  
  3. Connect the radiator fan electrical connectors.
  4.  
  5. Install the upper radiator hose (3).
  6.  
  7. Install the coolant recovery container (1).
  8.  
  9. Fill the cooling system with the proper type and amount of fluid.
  10.  
  11. Connect the battery negative cable.
  12.  
  13. Run the engine and bleed the air from the coolant system.
