Removal & Installation

3.4L & 3.8L Engines
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  4.
  5. Remove the engine oil pressure sensor.
    NOTE
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6.
  7. Install the engine oil pressure indicator switch. Tighten the switch to 12 ft. lbs. (16 Nm).
  8.
  9. Connect the engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  10.
  11. Lower the vehicle. Check and fill the crankcase as necessary. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.

3.5L & 3.9L Engines
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2.
  3. Remove the oil pressure sensor heat shield nut and shield.
  4.
  5. Disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  6.
  7. Remove the engine oil pressure sensor.
