  4.
  5. From under the instrument panel, remove the clutch master cylinder rod-to-clutch pedal arm pin.
  6.
  7. Remove the clutch master cylinder-to-firewall bolts and the master cylinder.
  8.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedures. Refill the master cylinder reservoir and bleed the system.

OVERHAUL

  1. Remove the stopper plate snapring.
  2.
  3. Once the snapring is removed, use compressed air to remove the piston assembly; note the order of all components. The piston assembly is in two parts - the piston and the spring assembly.
  4.
  5. Inspect the inside of the cylinder bore for rust, pitting or scratching. Light scores or scratches can be removed with a brake cylinder hone. If the bore won't clean up with a few passes of the hone, the entire cylinder will have to be replaced.
  6.
  7. Replace the interior components with new ones. Overhaul kits will simply be two pieces - a new piston and a new spring assembly. Reassemble them in the correct order. Coat the inside of the cylinder with brake fluid before installing the parts.
  8.
  9. Install the master cylinder and bleed the system.
  10.
