Steering Wheel

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Using a small pry bar, lift the pad from the steering wheel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the steering wheel retaining nut. Gently hit the backside of each of the steering wheel spokes with equal force from the palms of your hands. Remove the steering wheel assembly. If necessary use a steering wheel type puller tool or equivalent.
  4.  


WARNING
Avoid hitting the wheel or the shaft with excessive force. Damage to the shaft could result.

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedures. Torque the steering wheel nut to 26-36 ft. lbs.
