Removal & Installation



Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007

  1. Remove the brake fluid from the clutch master cylinder reservoir with a syringe.
  2.  
  3. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio unit and the navigation system, and then write down the audio presets.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and then disconnect the positive cable.
  6.  
  7. Remove the battery.
  8.  
  9. Remove the air intake assembly.
  10.  
  11. Remove the battery base.
  12.  
  13. Pry out the lock pin, and pull the pedal pin out of the yoke.
  14.  
  15. Remove the master cylinder mounting nuts.
  16.  
  17. Remove the reservoir mounting bolt.
  18.  
  19. Remove the clutch line bracket.
  20.  
  21. Remove the clutch line clips.
  22.  
  23. Remove the clutch master cylinder.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse order of removal.

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2008

  1. Remove and discard the brake fluid from the clutch master cylinder reservoir with a syringe or other suitable device.
  2.  
  3. Remove the driver's dashboard undercover.
  4.  
  5. Pry out the lock pin, and pull the clevis pin out of the clevis. Remove the master cylinder mounting nuts.
  6.  
  7. Remove the reservoir mounting bolt and the retaining clip then disconnect the clutch line from the clutch master cylinder, and remove the O-ring. Plug or wrap the end of the clutch line with a clean shop towel to prevent brake fluid from coming out.

  9. Remove the master cylinder and the master cylinder seal.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install a new master cylinder seal and the master cylinder.
  2.  
  3. Install a new O-ring on the clutch line, and then install the clutch line in the clutch master cylinder with a new retaining clip. Install the master cylinder reservoir mounting bolt.
  4.  
  5. To prevent the retaining clip from coming off, pry apart the tip of the clip with a screwdriver.
  6.  
  7. Install the master cylinder mounting nuts.
  8.  
  9. Apply multipurpose grease to the clevis pin and the mating surfaces of the clevis and the pedal. Slide the clevis pin into the clevis, and then install a lock pin.
  10.  
  11. The remainder of the installation is the reverse order of removal.

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Remove the brake fluid from the clutch master cylinder reservoir with a syringe.
  2.  
  3. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio unit and the navigation system, and then write down the audio presets.

  5. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and then disconnect the positive cable.
  6.  
  7. Remove the battery.
  8.  
  9. Remove the air intake assembly.
  10.  
  11. Remove the battery base.
  12.  
  13. Pry out the lock pin, and pull the pedal pin out of the yoke.
  14.  
  15. Remove the cowl cover and the under-cowl panel.
  16.  
  17. Remove the clutch line bracket.
  18.  
  19. Remove the clutch line from the clamps.
  20.  
  21. Remove the clutch master cylinder with the clutch line and the reservoir hose.
  22.  
  23. Remove the reservoir hose, and then remove the retaining clip for disconnecting the clutch line from the clutch master cylinder. Plug or wrap the end of the reservoir hose and the clutch line with a shop towel to prevent brake fluid from coming out.

  25. Remove the O-ring and the clutch master cylinder seal from the clutch master cylinder.
  26.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse order of removal.

Specific to:

Honda S2000 2007-2008

  1. Remove and discard the brake fluid from the clutch master cylinder reservoir with a syringe or other suitable device.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the clutch line from the clutch master cylinder. Plug or wrap the end of the clutch line with a shop towel to prevent brake fluid from coming out.
  4.  
  5. Pry out the lock pin, and pull the clevis pin out of the clevis. Remove the master cylinder mounting nuts.
  6.  
  7. Remove the clutch master cylinder.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse order of removal.
