Removal & Installation



Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007-2008

  1. Remove the mounting clip and the splash separator, 2008 Models only.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the battery cables and remove the battery.
  4.  
  5. Remove the mounting bolts, the bracket mounting nut, and the slave cylinder.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse order of removal.
  2.  

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Remove the clutch line bracket and the slave cylinder.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse order of removal.

Specific to:

Honda S2000 2007-2008

  1. Remove the banjo bolt and the washers, and then disconnect the clutch hose from the slave cylinder.
  2.  
  3. Plug or wrap the end of the clutch hose with a shop towel to prevent brake fluid from coming out.
  4.  
  5. Remove the two bolts and the slave cylinder.

To install:

Specific to:

Honda Fit 2007-2008

  1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the audio system.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then disconnect the positive cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the battery.
  6.  
  7. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove the harness clamps and the battery base.
  10.  
  11. Remove the mounting bolts and the slave cylinder.
  12.  
  13. Remove the roll pins. Disconnect the clutch line, and remove the O-ring. Plug or wrap the end of the clutch line with a shop towel to prevent brake fluid from coming out.

To install:

  1. Install the slave cylinder in the reverse order of removal. Install a new O-ring.
  2.  
  3. Pull back the boot, and apply brake assembly lube to the boot and slave cylinder rod. Reinstall the boot.
  4.  
  5. Apply super-high temp urea grease to the slave cylinder pushrod. Tighten the slave cylinder mounting bolts to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).

  7. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system as follows:
    1. Attach a hose to the bleeder screw, and suspended the hose in a container of brake fluid.
    2.  
    3. Make sure there is an adequate supply of fluid in the clutch master cylinder, then slowly pump the clutch pedal until no more bubbles appear at the bleeder hose.
    4.  
    5. Tighten the bleeder screw to 5.8 ft. lbs. (8 Nm); do not over-tighten it.
    6.  
    7. Refill the clutch master cylinder with fluid when done. Always use Honda DOT 3 Brake Fluid.

  9. Make sure the fluid level in the reservoir is at the Max (upper) level line.
  10.  
  11. Install the battery base.
  12.  
  13. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  14.  
  15. Install the battery. Clean the battery posts and cable terminals. Connect the positive cable to the battery first, then connect the negative cable, and apply multipurpose grease to prevent corrosion.
  16.  
  17. Check the clutch operation and check for leaks.
  18.  
  19. Test-drive the vehicle.
  20.  
  21. Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system. Set the clock
