Removal & Installation

Specific to:

Honda Fit 2007-2008

  1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, or apply the parking brake, block both rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle. Make sure it is securely supported.
  2.
  3. Remove the splash shield.
  4.
  5. Remove the drain plug, and drain the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).
  6.
  7. Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer.
  8.
  9. Remove the shift solenoid valve cover, dowel pins, and gasket.
  10.
  11. Disconnect the connectors, remove the shift solenoid harness connector, and replace it.
  12.

To install:

  1. Install the new O-ring (F) on the new shift solenoid harness connector, and install the connector in the transmission housing.
  2.
  3. Connect the WHT and ORN wires connector to shift solenoid valve B. The ATF temperature sensor is assembled in the WHT wires connector.
  4.
  5. Connect the harness terminals to the solenoids:

BLU wire connector to shift solenoid valve A.

GRN wire connector to shift solenoid valve C.

YEL wire connector to shift solenoid valve D.

Testing

Specific to:

Honda Fit 2007-2008

  1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, or apply the parking brake, block both rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle. Make sure it is securely supported.
  2.
  3. Remove the splash shield.
  4.
  5. Disconnect the shift solenoid harness connector.
  6.
  7. Measure the ATF temperature sensor resistance between shift solenoid harness connector terminals No. 6 and No. 7.
  8.
  9. If the resistance is out of standard range of 50 ohms to 25 k-ohms, replace the ATF temperature sensor and the solenoid harness; go to step 6. The ATF temperature sensor is not available separately from the shift solenoid harness.
