The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor detects the position of the No. 1 cylinder as a reference for sequential fuel injection to each cylinder.

Specific to:

Honda Fit 2007-2008

The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor detects the position of the No. 1 cylinder as a reference for sequential fuel injection to each cylinder.

Removal & Installation



Specific to:

Honda S2000 2007-2008

  1. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor 3P connector.
  2.  
  3. Remove the CMP sensor from the exhaust camshaft side of the cylinder head.
  4.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring
  2.  

Specific to:

Honda Fit 2007-2008

  1. Remove the air cleaner.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the sensor connector (A).
  4.  
  5. Remove the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (B).

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (C).

2.4L Engine Sensor A

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007-2008

  1. Remove the air cleaner.
  2.  
  3. Remove the EGR valve.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor A connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the bolt.
  8.  
  9. Remove the CMP sensor A from the intake camshaft side of the cylinder head.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  

2.4L Engine Sensor B

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007-2008

  1. Remove the air cleaner.
  2.  
  3. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor B connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the CMP sensor B from the exhaust camshaft side of the cylinder head.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  

3.0L & 3.5L Engine

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007-2008

  1. Set the No 1 piston at top dead center.
  2.  
  3. Remove the upper covers from the engine.
  4.  
  5. To hold the timing belt adjuster in its current position, thread in the battery clamp bolt hand-tight.
  6.  
  7. Loosen the idler pulley bolt about five or six turns, and then remove the timing belt from the front camshaft pulley.
  8.  
  9. Remove the front camshaft pulley.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor connector, and then remove the back cover.
  12.  
  13. Remove the CMP sensor from the back cover.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse order of removal.
  2.  

Hybrid

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Remove the air intake assembly.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor 3P connector.
  4.  
  5. Remove the CMP sensor.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  

Non-hybrid
1.8L Engine

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Remove the cowl cover and the under-cowl panel.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor 3P connector.
  4.  
  5. Remove the CMP sensor.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  

2.0L Engine Sensor A

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Remove the air intake assembly.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor A 3P connector.
  4.  
  5. Remove the CMP sensor A from the intake camshaft side of the cylinder head.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  

2.0L Engine Sensor B

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Remove the air intake assembly.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor B 3P connector.
  4.  
  5. Remove the CMP sensor B.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  

Testing
