The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor detects crankshaft speed and is used by the ECM/PCM to determine ignition timing, timing for the fuel injection of each cylinder, and engine misfire detection.

Specific to:

Honda Fit 2007-2008

The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor detects crankshaft speed and is used by the ECM/PCM to determine ignition timing and timing for fuel injection of each cylinder as well as detecting engine misfire.

Removal & Installation



Specific to:

Honda S2000 2007-2008

  1. Remove the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the CKP sensor 3P connector.
  4.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  

Specific to:

Honda Fit 2007-2008

  1. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor connector.

  3. Remove the CKP sensor.
  4.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  
  3. Perform the CKP pattern clear/pattern learn procedure as follows:
    1. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm without load (in Park or neutral) until the radiator fan comes on.
    2.  
    3. Test drive the vehicle on a level road: Decelerate (with the throttle fully closed) from an engine speed of 2,500 rpm down to 1,000 rpm with the A/T in 2 position, or M/T in 1st gear. Repeat this step several times.
    4.  
    5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
      NOTE

    7. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and wait 30 seconds.

2.4L Engines

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007-2008

  1. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor connector.
  2.  
  3. Remove the CKP sensor.
  4.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  

3.0L Engine

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007

  1. Move the auto-tensioner to remove tension from the accessory drive belt, and then remove the belt.
  2.  
  3. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
  4.  
  5. Remove the upper and lower timing belt covers from the engine.
  6.  
  7. Remove the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor A/B from the oil pump.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
  2.  

3.5L Engine

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2008

  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
    WARNING
    Make the vehicle the horizontal because engine oil comes out when the sensor removed.

  3. Remove the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor cover.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the CKP sensor connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the CKP sensor.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  

Hybrid

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) 3P connector.
  2.  
  3. Remove the CKP sensor.
  4.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  

Non-hybrid
1.8L Engine

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Remove the engine splash shield.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor 3P connector.
  4.  
  5. Remove the CKP sensor.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.  

2.0L Engine

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor 3P connector.
  2.  
  3. Remove the CKP sensor.
  4.  

To install:

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring.
  2.
