Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007

Before performing this procedure, note the following:

  1. Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  2.  
  3. Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
  4.  
  5. Lay a workshop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
  6.  
  7. Do not work in a dusty or dirty place.
  8.  
  9. Discharge static electricity from your body before and during the work.
  10.  
  11. Do not touch the circuit board(s) with your bare hands.
  12.  
  13. Do not work with dirty hands.
  14.  
  15. Be careful not to fold the flat plate cable.
  16.  
  17. Do not touch the terminal connector of the flat plate cable with your bare hands. (If you have touched it, wipe it off thoroughly.)
  18.  

  1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio system, and then write down the audio presets.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least 3 minutes before proceeding.
    NOTE
    Upper panel removal requires the use of Upper Panel/Vent Removal Tool 07AAC-DSAA100, or equivalent. Be careful not to scratch the dashboard and related components.

  4.  
  5. Remove the upper panel, as follows:
    1. Push the hazard warning switch button (A). Carefully insert a flat-tip screwdriver into the slot (B) below the button, and push down on the center clip.

    3. With the special tool and a flat-tip screwdriver : Set both ends of the special tool in the center vent openings (A) as shown. While pressing the center clip (B) down, pull the upper panel (C) back with the tool to detach the clips (D).

    5. With two flat-tip screwdrivers : Carefully insert a flat-tip screwdriver wrapped with tape into the slot (A) on one side of the upper panel (B). While pressing down on the center clip (C), carefully pull out on the side of the panel to detach the clips (D). Repeat this operation on the other side of the panel.

    7. Pull the upper panel (A) in the direction shown to release the remaining clips, disconnect the hazard warning switch connector (B), and if equipped, sunlight sensor connector (C) and navigation subdisplay connector (D). Detach the harness clips (E), and then remove the upper panel.

  7. Remove the center pocket, as follows:
    1. Remove the center holder.
    2.  
    3. Remove the center pocket screws (B).
    4.  
    5. Open the lid, and then pull the pocket back by hand to detach the clips (C).
    6.  
    7. Close the lid and remove the center pocket (A).

  9. Remove the screws and bolts, disconnect the audio-HVAC display module connectors (A) and the antenna lead (B) and remove the audio-HVAC display module (C).

To install:

  1. Install the audio-HVAC display module and note these items:
    1. Make sure the disconnected connectors are plugged in properly and the AM/FM antenna sublead jack is connected properly.
    2.  
    3. Enter the anti-theft code for the audio and the navigation system, and then enter the audio presets.
    4.

  3. Install the pocket in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    1. Make sure the holders (D) are installed onto the pins (E) properly.
    2.  
    3. Push the clipped portions into place securely.
    4.  
    5. Make sure the center pocket lid opens smoothly.
    6.

  5. Install the upper panel in the reverse order of removal, and make sure each connector is plugged in properly.

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2008

  1. Before performing this procedure, note the following:
    1. Put on gloves to protect your hands.
    2.  
    3. Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
    4.  
    5. Lay a workshop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
    6.  
    7. Eject all the disc before remove the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism.
    8.

  3. Make sure you have anti-theft codes for the audio system and the navigation system.
  4.  
  5. Remove the center console panel and the center pocket.
  6.  
  7. Remove the audio disc changer.
  8.  
  9. Remove the center pocket frame.
  10.  
  11. Remove the driver's inner dashboard trim, and passenger's dashboard trim.
  12.  
  13. Remove the dashboard center vent.
  14.  
  15. Remove the self tapping screws and bolts, and then pull out the audio unit.
  16.  
  17. Disconnect the connectors and remove the audio unit.
  18.  
  19. Remove the interface dial.
  20.  
  21. Remove the audio switch panel.
  22.  
  23. Remove the center display visor.
  24.  
  25. Remove the screws and bolts, and then pull out the audio-HVAC display unit.
  26.  
  27. Disconnect the connector, and remove the audio-HVAC display unit.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse order of removal.

Specific to:

Honda S2000 2007-2008


NOTE
This procedure requires the use of KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014, or equivalent trim tool set. Use the appropriate tool from the trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the instrument panel together with the heater control panel, as shown in the accompanying illustration.

  5. Remove the self-tapping screws and the heater control panel (A) from the instrument panel (B).

To install:

  1. Install the control panel in the reverse order of removal. After installation, operate the control panel controls to see whether it works properly.

Specific to:

Honda Fit 2007-2008

  1. Remove the center panel. See -BODY- section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear window defogger and A/C switch, and the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator from the center panel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the dials, then remove the self-tapping screws and the heater-A/C control panel.

To install:

  1. Install the control panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    1. Adjust the air mix control cable, the mode control cable, and the recirculation control cable. See -Control Cables- in this section.

    3. After installation, operate the control panel controls to see whether it works properly.

Non-hybrid



Before performing this procedure, note the following:

  1. Put on gloves to protect your hands.

  3. Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.

  5. Lay a workshop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.

  7. Do not work in a dusty or dirty place.
  8.  
  9. Discharge static electricity from your body before and during the work.
  10.  
  11. Do not touch the circuit board(s) with your bare hands.
  12.  
  13. Do not work with dirty hands.
  14.  
  15. Be careful not to fold the flat plate cable.
  16.  
  17. Do not touch the terminal connector of the flat plate cable with your bare hands. (If you have touched it, wipe it off thoroughly.)

  7. Remove the meter inner visor.

  9. Remove the center pocket hole lid and bolts, and then pull out the center panel (A).

  11. Disconnect the connectors (B), and then remove the center panel.

  13. Remove the dials (A), the self-tapping screws, and the HVAC control unit (B).

To install:

  1. Install the control unit in the reverse order of removal. After installation, operate the various functions to make sure they work properly.
