Possible Causes:



Engine oil level low, If the level is OK, check the engine oil pressure
 
Poor connections or loose terminals at the VTC oil control solenoid valve and the ECM/PCM
 
Faulty VTC oil control solenoid valve or clogged VTC strainer
 
Faulty VTC actuator
 
Perform the ECM/PCM idle learn procedure and the CKP pattern clear/CKP pattern learn procedure
