Power Mirrors

Diagnosis & Testing
  1. Remove the power window master switch.
  2.
  3. Disconnect the 13P connector from the power mirror switch and 37P connector from the power window master switch.
  4.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  6.
  7. Measure the voltage between body ground and the No. 2 terminal of the power mirror switch 13P connector with the ignition switch ON (II). There should be battery voltage.
  8.
  9. If there is no battery voltage, check for:

    Blown No. 16 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box

An open in the LT GRN wire

  10.
  11. Check for continuity between the terminal No. 6 and body ground. There should be continuity. If there is no continuity, check for:

An open in the BLK wire

    Poor ground (G501)

  12.
  13. If there is continuity, proceed to the next step.
  14.
  15. Connect the terminals No. 2 and No. 10, and the No. 5 (or No. 12) and terminals No. 6 with jumper wires. The left mirror should tilt down (or swing left) with the ignition switch ON (II).
  16.
  17. If the left mirror does not tilt down (or does not swing left), check for an open in the GRY (or YEL) wire between the left mirror and the 13P connector. If the wire is OK, check the left mirror actuator.
  18.
  19. If the mirror neither tilts down nor swings left, repair the PUR wire.
  20.
  21. If the mirror works properly, check the mirror switch.
  22.

Both Mirrors Not Working

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  4.
  5. If there is no battery voltage, check for:

    Blown No. 36 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box

An open in the BRN (4-door) or LT GRN (2-Door) wire

  6.
  7. If there is battery voltage, go to next step.
  8.
  9. Check for continuity between terminal No. 6 and body ground. There should be continuity.
  10.
  11. If there is no continuity, check for:

An open in the BLK wire

    Poor ground G503 (4-door), G501 (2-door)

  4.
  5. Move the mirror selector switch to the left or right and hold down the mirror switch in any direction.
  6.
  7. If there is no battery voltage, check for:

    Blown fuse (7.5 A) in the under-dash fuse/relay box

An open in the YEL/BLK wire

  8.
  9. Check for continuity between terminal No. 10 and body ground. Move the mirror selector switch to the left or right and hold down the mirror switch in any direction. There should be less than 1 V.
  10.
  11. If there is no more than 1 V, check for:

An open in the BLK wire

    Poor ground (G501)
