Removal & Installation

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007

  1. Drain the engine cooling system.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front bulkhead cover.
  4.  
  5. Remove the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) cooler hoses, if equipped.
  6.  
  7. Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the fan motor connectors and Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor 2 connector.
  10.  
  11. Remove the A/C compressor clutch connector.
  12.  
  13. Remove the upper bracket and cushions and pull up the radiator.
  14.  
  15. Remove the fan shroud assemblies and other parts from the radiator.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Install the radiator in the reverse order of removal.
  2.  
  3. Make sure the upper and lower cushions are set securely.
  4.  
  5. Refill the engine cooling system to the correct level.
  6.  
  7. Check the ATF fluid level.
  8.  

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2008

  1. Disconnect the battery cables.
  2.  
  3. Remove the mounting nuts, and remove the battery clamp and battery.
  4.  
  5. Remove the harness clamps and remove the battery base.
  6.  
  7. Remove the front grille cover.
  8.  
  9. Remove the water separator and air intake duct.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) cooler hoses, if equipped with automatic transmission.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
  14.  
  15. Disconnect the fan motor connectors and Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor 2 connector, and then remove the harness clamps.
  16.  
  17. Disconnect the upper radiator hose and remove the upper brackets and the coolant reservoir.
  18.  
  19. Remove the radiator.
  20.  

To install:

  1. Install the radiator in the reverse order of removal.
  2.  
  3. Make sure the upper and lower cushions are set securely.
  4.  
  5. Refill the engine cooling system to the correct level.
  6.  
  7. Check the ATF fluid level.
  8.  

Specific to:

Honda S2000 2007-2008

  1. Drain the engine coolant.
  2.  
  3. Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses.
  4.  
  5. Detach the fan motor connectors and Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor 2 connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the radiator upper brackets and cushions, and then pull up the radiator.
  8.  
  9. Remove both fan shroud assemblies and other parts from the radiator.

To install:

  1. Install the radiator in the reverse order of removal. Make sure the upper and lower cushions are set securely.
  2.  
  3. Refill the radiator with engine coolant, and then bleed the air from the cooling system.
  4.  

Hybrid



Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Drain the engine cooling system.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the front wheels.
  6.  
  7. Remove the engine undercover and splash shield.
  8.  
  9. Remove the engine appearance cover.
  10.  
  11. Remove the resonator.
  12.  
  13. Remove the air intake assembly.
  14.  
  15. Remove the front grille cover.
  16.  
  17. Remove the clips and the radiator mount upper bracket/cushion.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect the hood latch switch connector, and then remove the mounting bolts and the clamps.
  20.  
  21. Disconnect the reservoir hose and remove the mounting bolts, and then remove the water filler.
  22.  
  23. Remove the harness clamps, and then disconnect the radiator fan motor connector, A/C condenser fan motor connector, and the harness clamps.
  24.  
  25. Remove the bulkhead.
  26.  
  27. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses, and then remove the water lower pipe mounting bolts.
  28.  
  29. Drain the CVT fluid (CVTF).
  30.  
  31. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hoses and the lower radiator hose.
  32.  
  33. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor 2 connector, and then remove the clamp.
  34.  
  35. Disconnect the upper radiator hose and water filler hose.
  36.  
  37. Remove the mounting bolts, and then pull up the radiator fan shroud assembly and the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly.
  38.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse order of removal.
  2.  
  3. Adjust the hood latch alignment if necessary.
  4.  
  5. Refill the engine cooling system to the correct level.
  6.  

Non-hybrid



Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio or the navigation system, and then write down the audio presets.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and then disconnect the positive cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the battery.
  6.  
  7. Drain the engine coolant.
  8.  
  9. Remove the bulkhead cover.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the fan motor connectors and hood switch connector, and remove the harness clamps.
  12.  
  13. Remove the reservoir hose, radiator cap base mounting bolts, clips, and radiator upper brackets.
  14.  
  15. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses.
  16.  
  17. Remove the splash shield.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor 2 connector, and remove the harness clamp.
  20.  
  21. Remove the condenser bracket mounting bolts and the bulkhead.
  22.  
  23. Pull up the radiator, and then remove the fan shroud assemblies and other parts from the radiator.

To install:

  1. Install the radiator in the reverse order of removal. Make sure the upper and lower cushions are set securely.
  2.  
  3. Install the bulkhead in the reverse order of removal. Apply body paint to the bulkhead mounting bolts.
  4.  
  5. Fill the radiator with engine coolant and bleed the air.
  6.
