Removal & Installation



Lower Arm A

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2008

  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the parking brake cable mounting bolt.
  6.  
  7. Remove the lower arm A mounting bolts and remove lower arm A.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Install lower arm A using new bolts to 43 ft. lbs. (59 Nm).
  2.  
  3. The remainder of the installation is the reverse order of removal.

Lower Arm B

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2008

  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the lower arm B mounting bolts and remove lower arm B.

To install:

  1. Install lower arm B using new bolts to 43 ft. lbs. (59 Nm).
  2.  
  3. The remainder of the installation is the reverse order of removal.
  4.  

Lower Control Arm

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007

  1. Raise and support the vehicle safely. Remove the rear tires.
  2.  
  3. Remove the lower arm mounting nut and mounting bolt from the knuckle side.
  4.  
  5. Remove the flange bolt. Remove the lower arm from the vehicle.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Position the lower arm on the vehicle. Be sure to use new retaining bolts and nuts.
  2.  
  3. Install all the suspension components and lightly tighten the bolts and nuts. Position a jack under the trailing arm and raise the suspension to load it with the vehicles weight, before fully tightening the bolts and nuts.
  4.  
  5. Continue the installation in the reverse order of the removal procedure.
  6.  
  7. Check and adjust the wheel alignment, as required.
  8.  

Specific to:

Honda S2000 2007

  1. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear tires.
  4.  
  5. Remove the flange nut while holding the joint pin. Disconnect the stabilizer link from the lower arm.
  6.  
  7. Remove the flange bolt and disconnect the damper from the lower arm.
  8.  
  9. Remove the cotter pin from the lower arm ball joint. Remove the castle nut.
  10.  
  11. Remove the lower arm ball joint from the knuckle, using a ball joint removal tool.
  12.  
  13. Remove the flange bolt, self locking nut, cam plate and adjusting nut. Remove the lower arm from the vehicle.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Position the lower arm on the vehicle. Be sure to use new retaining bolts and nuts.
  2.  
  3. Install all the suspension components and lightly tighten the bolts and nuts. Position a jack under the trailing arm and raise the suspension to load it with the vehicles weight, before fully tightening the bolts and nuts.
  4.  
  5. Continue the installation in the reverse order of the removal procedure.
  6.  
  7. Check and adjust the wheel alignment, as required.
  8.  

Specific to:

Honda S2000 2008

  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the self-locking nut, adjusting cam plate, and adjusting bolt, and then disconnect the control arm from the frame.
  6.  
  7. Remove the lock pin from the control arm ball joint, and then remove the castle nut.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the control arm ball joint from the knuckle using the ball joint thread protector and the ball joint remover.
  10.  
  11. Remove the control arm.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse order of removal.
  2.  
  3. Check and adjust the wheel alignment as necessary.

Upper Control Arm

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007-2008

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and support the vehicle safely. Remove the rear tires.
  4.  
  5. Remove the lock pin from the upper arm ball joint, and loosen the castle nut.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the upper arm ball joint from the knuckle using the ball joint removal tool.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake hose mounting bracket. Do not disconnect the brake line.
  10.  
  11. Remove the wheel sensor harness mounting bracket.
  12.  
  13. Remove the flange bolt. Remove the upper arm from the vehicle.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Position the upper arm on the vehicle. Be sure to use new retaining bolts and nuts.
  2.  
  3. Install all the suspension components and lightly tighten the bolts and nuts. Position a jack under the trailing arm and raise the suspension to load it with the vehicles weight, before fully tightening the bolts and nuts.
  4.  
  5. Continue the installation in the reverse order of the removal procedure.
  6.  
  7. Check and adjust the wheel alignment, as required.
  8.  

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear tires.
  4.  
  5. Place a jack under the trailing arm and the knuckle.
  6.  
  7. Remove the upper arm mounting bolts and the flange bolt. Remove the upper arm from the vehicle.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Position the upper arm on the vehicle. Be sure to use new retaining bolts and nuts.
  2.  
  3. Install all the suspension components and lightly tighten the bolts and nuts. Position a jack under the trailing arm and raise the suspension to load it with the vehicles weight, before fully tightening the bolts and nuts.
  4.  
  5. Continue the installation in the reverse order of the removal procedure.
  6.  
  7. Check and adjust the wheel alignment, as required.
  8.  

Specific to:

Honda S2000 2007-2008
