Removal & Installation



Wiper Motor

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2007

  1. Open the hood. Remove the caps, nuts, and the windshield wiper arms.
  2.  
  3. Remove the hood seals and cowl covers.

  5. Disconnect the 5P connector from the wiper motor.
  6.  
  7. Remove the four bolt and wiper linkage assembly.

  9. Scribe a line across the link and windshield wiper linkage to show the original adjustment. Then, separate the windshield wiper linkage from the wiper motor.

To install:

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    1. Apply multipurpose grease to the moving parts.
    2.  
    3. Before reinstalling the wiper arms, turn the wiper switch ON, then OFF to return the wiper shafts to the park position.
    4.  
    5. If necessary, replace any damaged clips.
    6.  
    7. Check the wiper motor operation.
    8.

Specific to:

Honda Accord 2008

  1. Open the hood. Remove the caps and nuts.
  2.  
  3. Close the hood and spread protective cloths on the hood to avoid scratching the hood edge.
  4.  
  5. Raise the wiper arms off the windshield, and then remove the wiper arms.
  6.  
  7. Remove the hood seal and cowl covers.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the harness clip and 5P connector from the wiper motor.
  10.  
  11. Remove the four bolts and wiper linkage assembly.
  12.  
  13. Separate the linkage from the link.
  14.  
  15. Matchmark the position, and then remove the nut and the link from the wiper motor.
  16.  
  17. Remove the three bolts, and separate the wiper motor from the linkage.

To install:

  1. Before installing the motor, connect the 5P connector to the wiper motor, and turn the wiper/washer switch ON to (LO) or (HI) position, then OFF to return the motor shaft to the park position.
  2.  
  3. Installation is the reverse order of removal. When installing the wiper linkage, align the matchmarks made during the removal process.

Specific to:

Honda Civic 2007-2008

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2.  
  3. Turn the wiper switch ON, then OFF to return the wiper shafts to the park position.
  4.  
  5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  6.  
  7. Open the hood. Remove the caps, nuts, and the windshield wiper arms.
  8.  
  9. Remove the cowl covers.
  10.  
  11. Remove the bolts and the under-cowl panel.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the 5P connector from the wiper motor, and then remove the six bolts and wiper linkage assembly.
  14.  
  15. With a felt-tip pen, make a mark on the motor link, and a corresponding mark on the wiper motor mounting plate.
  16.  
  17. Remove the nut, and separate the link and windshield wiper linkage.
  18.  
  19. Remove the three bolts, and separate the windshield wiper linkage from the wiper motor.

To install:

  1. Before installing the wiper motor, connect the wiper motor 5P connector to the motor and turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2.  
  3. Turn the wiper switch ON, then OFF to return the wiper shafts to the park position.
  4.  
  5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the wiper motor 5P connector from the wiper motor.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse order of removal, aligning the matchmarks made on the wiper linkage.

Specific to:

Honda S2000 2007-2008

  1. Open the hood, and remove the cap nuts and the wiper arms.
  2.  
  3. Remove the hood seal and cowl cover.

  5. Disconnect the 5P connector (A) from the wiper motor (B).
  6.  
  7. Remove the bolts, and then remove windshield wiper linkage assembly (C).

  9. Remove the three mounting bolts and nut from the wiper linkage (A) to remove the wiper motor (B).

To install:

  1. Install the wiper motor in the reverse order of removal, and note the following:
    1. Grease all moving parts.
    2.  
    3. Before reinstalling the wiper arms, turn the wiper switch ON, then OFF to return the wiper shafts to the park position.
    4.  
    5. If necessary, replace any damaged clips.
    6.  
    7. Check the wiper motor operation.

Specific to:

Honda Fit 2007-2008

  1. Remove the nuts (A) and wiper arms (B).
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the washer tube (C), then remove the hood seals (D) and cowl covers (E).

  5. Disconnect the 5-pin connector (A) from the wiper motor (B).
  6.  
  7. Remove the three bolts (C) and wiper linkage assembly (D).

  9. Scribe a line (A) across the link the windshield wiper linkage to show the original adjustment, then remove the nut and link (B).
  10.  
  11. Remove the two screws and wiper motor (C) from the wiper linkage (D).

To install:


NOTE
Before installation, apply grease to all moving parts.

  1. Position the wiper motor to the linkage and attach with the two screws, aligning the scribe mark made during removal.
  2.  
  3. Install the wiper linkage and three retaining bolts.
  4.  
  5. Connect the electrical connector.
  6.  
  7. Install the cowl covers, hood seals, and washer tube.
  8.  
  9. Before reinstalling the wiper arms, turn the wiper switch ON, then OFF to return the wiper shafts to the PARK position.
  10.  
  11. Check the wiper motor operation.
