Clutch Master Cylinder

CAUTION
The clutch driven disc may contain asbestos, which has been determined to be a cancer causing agent. Never clean clutch surfaces with compressed air! Avoid inhaling any dust from any clutch surface! When cleaning clutch surfaces, use a commercially available brake cleaning fluid.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and disable the SRS system (if equipped.) At the top of the clutch pedal, remove the cotter pin and pull the pedal pin out of the yoke.

  3. Remove the nuts and bolts holding the clutch master cylinder and remove the cylinder from the engine compartment.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect and plug the hydraulic lines from the master cylinder.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system.

OVERHAUL



Overhaul of the clutch master cylinder is not recommended. In the event that the master cylinder requires replacement, it is recommended to replace both the master cylinder and slave cylinder as a set for added reliability.
