The manual steering gear used on Hondas is of the rack and pinion design. This unit is packed with grease and therefore does not require a periodic fluid level check. However, inspect the unit and associated rubber boot-type seals for obvious grease leaks or torn boots at 15,000 miles (24,100 km), 30,000 miles (48,300 km), then, at 30,000 mile (48,300 km) increments. Make repairs as necessary.
Repack with about 2 oz. of multipurpose grease.
