Fuel Pressure Regulator

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Relieve fuel pressure.
  4.  
  5. Remove the air intake chamber, if necessary to gain access.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the vacuum hose and fuel hose.
  8.

  1. Remove the 6mm retaining bolts.
  2.  

To install:
  1. Install a new O-ring.
  2.  
  3. Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring and mating surface of fuel pressure regulator.
  4.  
  5. Install the regulator. Tighten the mounting bolts to 9 ft. lbs. (12 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Connect the vacuum and fuel hoses.
  8.  
  9. Install the air chamber, if removed.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.  
  13. Turn ignition switch ON but do not operate starter. After fuel pump runs for approximately 2 seconds, fuel pressure in fuel line rises. Repeat this 3 times, then check whether there is any fuel leakage.
