REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Dual Point Fuel Injection (DP-FI)
  1. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the cover to the air intake chamber and the air intake screen.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the air intake hose from the intake chamber by removing the large clamp.
  8.  
  9. Label and disconnect all vacuum hoses to the throttle body.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle body.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the fuel line banjo fitting from the side of the housing.
  14.  

Discard the washers from the banjo fitting, they should be replaced whenever the fitting is loosened.

  1. Disengage the electrical connectors. Remove the throttle body mounting nuts and remove the housing from the intake manifold.
  2.  

To install:
  1. Use a new gasket under the insulator and a new O-ring under the housing and install the throttle body in position on the intake manifold.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the mounting bolts to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Reconnect all electrical and vacuum leads. Connect the fuel line banjo fitting, using new washers. Connect the throttle cable.
  6.  
  7. Install the air intake housing and connect the intake air tube.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable and start the engine. Check for leaks and reset the idle, as needed.

Multi-Point Fuel Injection

  1. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.

  5. Disconnect the air intake hose from the throttle body.

  1. Label and disconnect all vacuum hoses to the throttle body.

  3. Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle body.

  1. Unplug the electrical connectors. Remove the throttle body mounting nuts and remove the housing from the intake manifold.

To install:
