All Honda's are equipped with rack and pinion steering. Movement of the steering wheel is transmitted through the linkage to the input shaft, which in turn is connected to the pinion gear. The pinion gear engages the rack and rotation of the pinion, transmitted from the input shaft, causes the rack to move laterally.
Some models are equipped with power steering. The power steering system is basically a hydraulically assisted rack and pinion, the hydraulic pressure is created by a gear type pump driven from the engine.
