You may have to remove the shift knob, on some early models, to remove the floor console.

  1. Detach the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Open the armrest.
  4.  
  5. Remove the inner cover panel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the access lid and screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the cup holder.
  10.  
  11. Lift up the parking brake.
  12.  
  13. Lifting the front of the console and sliding it rear ward will detach it from the mounting hooks below.

  15. Remove the rear console by sliding it over the parking brake.
  16.  
  17. Detach the ash tray.
  18.  
  19. Lift up the console and detach any electrical connectors.
  20.  

Use caution not to scratch the automatic transmission shift lever.

  1. Remove the shift knob on manual transmission equipped cars.
  2.  
  3. Remove the radio.
  4.  
  5. Remove the dashboard lower cover.
  6.  
  7. Remove the glove box.
  8.  
  9. Remove the front console.
  10.  

Wrap a clean shop towel around the gear selector to prevent damage during removal and installation of the console.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
